GOAL 1

To improve mathematical skills of all students the teachers will effectively plan for and implement the MA Curriculum Frameworks for Mathematics using the enVision math resource which results in 75% of the students scoring proficient on the end of the year assessments

School Leadership

  • Principal will work with Grade Level Instructional Leaders to plan professional development activities for grade level team times, faculty meetings, early-release day and in-service days
  • Principal will create opportunities for teacher collaboration
  • Principal will provide opportunity for peer observations

Faculty and Staff

  • Teachers will use F.A.S.T/ enVisions and Get Set for School: Numbers assessment data to inform instruction including tiered interventions
  • Teachers will implement the parent component of the enVisions math resource
  • Teachers will routinely incorporate math into morning meetings to support the spiral review component of learning
  • Teachers will actively participate in professional  development activities
  • A Family Math Night will be held to share strategies that can be used at home to reinforce learned standards to enhance student achievement

GOAL 2

To improve literacy skills of all students the teachers will effectively plan for and implement the MA Curriculum Frameworks for English Language Arts using a balanced literacy program  which  results in 80% of students meeting the end of the year benchmark

  • Principal will review bus behavior expectations will students
  • School Adjustment Counselor will implement the Social Thinking® curriculum in small groups and in classrooms

 

Faculty and Staff

  • Fidelity with the Responsive Classroom I and Responsive Classroom II
  • Teachers model positive language and use it proactively with discipline
  • Provide Social Thinking® as a small group intervention and whole class instructional support
  • Mile Tree School will have a faculty representative(s) on the HWRSD Responsive Classroom committee

Students (if applicable)

  • Students know that the same general behavioral expectations  are the same in all areas of the school including the classroom, hallways, related arts, the cafeteria, at recess and on the bus
  • Students demonstrate the core values ( respect, responsibility, integrity and honesty) in their daily actions throughout the school and on the bus
